When was the last time your current sprinkler system was adjusted or updated? You can save both water and money with an efficiently running irrigation system.

Olde Towne Irrigation

Beginning a couple of seasons ago, we made the use of pressure-regulated sprinkler heads standard practice within our company. Why is it important to use sprinkler heads with built-in pressure regulators?

First, it conserves water by controlling the amount of pressure each individual nozzle puts out, allowing the sprinkler head to operate within the optimum pressure range. The ideal pressure for your residential rotor is 45 PSI (pounds per square inch). A system that is being run on too much pressure is not running efficiently. The flow rate will be increased, which simply means that more water is being forced through the sprinkler head than what is required.

Secondly, the throwing radius of the head is not covering what it was designed to do. Higher than necessary pressure will cause the heads to mist and the desired droplet size of the water output is too small. The slightest amount of wind will displace those smaller droplets to their not intended target, causing some areas of the turf to be too wet and others too dry. Uniformed coverage and distribution are lost at this point. The common reaction of the average landscaper (the person who cuts your grass) or homeowner to correct this is to increase the run time (apply more water, money) to help the effected dry spots, forgetting about the areas that are already too wet.

Olde Towne Irrigation

Save yourself time and money, and hire a professional irrigation contractor to evaluate any type of irrigation system you may have.

Olde Towne Irrigation offers a free review of any residential irrigation system to ensure it’s efficiency is maximized and as much water and money is being saved as possible. Maximize efficiency, conserve water and save you money.

Free evaluations of any current sprinkler system to determine it is being operated with the highest efficiency

Irrigation Services

Expert Design & Installations

Olde Towne Irrigation’s installation crew and design team provides the highest quality lawn sprinkler systems in the area. They meet clients’ needs in giving them an automatic irrigation system that will maintain a healthy and beautiful landscape. Once you have an initial consultation (free), they begin designing a system that best suits each individual property, to ensure complete and efficient coverage throughout.

Within this phase, they choose which sprinkler heads are appropriate for each area of the lawn and whether there are planting beds that are also going to need irrigation. It is important that your design consists of head-to-head coverage for a well uniformed distribution of water.

For planting beds, drip irrigation is the most reliable way to deliver water directly to the root systems of each individual plant or shrub, thus eliminating wasteful watering to where it may not be needed.

Upgrades & Additions to Existing Systems

Irrigation systems can always be re-designed for various reasons. Whether you are installing a new pool, building a deck, building an addition, or even re-routing your driveway, there is a high possibility that there will be pipes and sprinkler heads in your way. Olde Towne’s experienced staff is well qualified to advise you how to best proceed during any such construction, while always trying to keep the undisturbed areas of your lawn watered.

Any type of irrigation system can be modified or made more efficient. If you’re considering adding a planting bed or extending your lawn to where there may not be any irrigation, OTI’s professional staff will consult with you on how best to proceed.

Older and outdated systems can be upgraded using more current technology by either swapping out your old heads or updating your controller with one of today’s more efficient units that will conserve water usage. An updated controller along with new sprinkler heads will instantly modernize any irrigation system, making it more efficient and reliable, thus saving you money at an affordable cost for a better result.

Seasonal Services List for Irrigation Systems

1. Spring Schedule: Consist of a complete and thorough review of your entire irrigation system. They will inspect the system for any leaks as well as the adjustments of all heads to ensure well uniformed coverage throughout your lawn. OTI’s experienced technicians will also set an appropriate watering cycle to the controller, one that will be reliable to withstand the rising temperatures of the season to give you a lush green lawn throughout the summer. At the completion of our inspection, we will provide any suggestions that may be considered in the future to further enhance the irrigation system.

2. Mid-Summer Schedule: Checkups are essential in making sure that your irrigation system is operating at a high level of efficiency in the most critical time of the season. We will review the operation of each zone, inspecting that all heads are properly adjusted and that there are no leaks in any of the piping. Updating the controller settings for a proper watering schedule to carry you through the remainder of the summer is also included in this service.

3. Fall Winterizations Schedule: Involve draining out all of the water from your backflow and copper pipes associated with the irrigation system to prevent freeze damage over the winter. We ‘blow out’ all your zones to prevent your underground pipes and heads from being damaged during the winter months. A properly winterized irrigation system will help ensure that everything is in working order come spring time saving you un-necessary repair expenses.

Please call us today to inquire on our Three Service Package that includes a Spring Start-Up, a Mid-Summer Review, and a Fall Winterization. We also offer a Two Service Package that includes the spring and fall services.

Testimonials by Loyal Customers 2014

Christine has been a happy customer of Olde Towne Irrigation for several years. “We highly recommend them for outdoor garden irrigation or lighting needs. We have a full-scale irrigation system on our property. We have a lot of gardens, grass and even planters that have drip-irrigation that Olde Towne Irrigation maintains…..

After a few years, we decided to go ahead and install some outdoor lighting. We started small, but now have a full system of lighting that has made a world of difference to our property. Not only does our landscape look green and healthy, but the lighting at night really allows us to enjoy it during the evenings. My favorite tree, a gigantic Gingko we planted for our youngest daughter, is up-lighted. I can’t tell you how special it is to highlight it with outdoor lighting! We LOVE it.”
